Putting Jesus Christ on the cross to pay the penalty for sin ought to show you how serious God is about his law,

even if it took the life of his own son to satisfy the demands of that law for death for sin, he would pay it.

His law is holy, his law is just, his law is righteous, and Christ's death proves it.

The story is told of three workers who helped build St. Paul's Cathedral in London. And when asked what they were doing, one said he was cutting stone. Another said he was simply earning a paycheck.

The third, though, said, I'm helping Sir Christopher Wren build St. Paul's Cathedral. Three men,

three different perspectives. Well, perhaps you've heard several takes on the crucifixion over the years, but have you ever

considered God's perspective on the death of his son?

That's John MacArthur's focus today as he continues his study, Easter through the eyes of God.

But before the lesson, we received a letter not long ago from a woman named Mickey, who, along with

her husband, has really come to understand the value of knowing Christ through a deeper understanding

of biblical truth. Here's what Mickey told us. She writes, my husband and I were both raised

in churches that taught error. In the early 2000s, I got a job at a Christian school,

and I needed to get a Bible in a different translation from what I had. I happened to buy a

MacArthur Study Bible. One Sunday morning, my pastor questioned me for having a MacArthur study

Bible. I was taken aback. I honestly had no idea who you were. Needless to say, I looked you up

and began listening to your teaching. This became a pivotal moment for which I will be forever

grateful. Slowly, I began to question teachings that I had always believed. I started a process that literally took years. Every belief I

held, I began to examine in light of Scripture to see if it was true. It was an extremely tough

few years, as I found that many things I had been taught were not biblical. It was almost like I was

grieving. Several years into this journey, my husband joined me.
