On a warm day in August,

1951, a helicopter appeared in the sky above the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

75,000 people had gathered there to watch a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. The crowd looked up. The chopper circled three times and landed on the field.

The loudspeaker amounts are called out. Attention, attention. A black man in a white suit stepped out onto the red cinder track.
