We know the legend is that Tiberius, a very successful general in his time,

retired to Capri and allowed the Roman senate to rule itself at a great distance from Capri.

So much by itself that strong men emerged, one of them, Mrs. Janus, and they had to be dealt with.

And then Tiberius continued age and remained indifferent. He was the emperor, but he was indifferent to the empire.

As far as we could tell from Roman point of view, this is before our time in Rome, we learned this in history.

And at the end, the legend says Tiberius expired, except for Caligula recognized that he might not be entirely dead.

And so the legend is, Caligula himself, smothered Tiberius, in between being congratulated by all the lieutenants for being the new emperor.

We don't know if it's true or not, it's a story that's lasted two thousand years, however.

So we come to this. Here's the thought experiment. What if Caligula had not acted in time, and Tiberius had awakened from his stupor and continued to reign Rome?

What would it have looked like to have Tiberius more and more ancient and Caligula more and more frustrated and angry?

The reason I make this thought experiment is because right now we have a man who has a very successful president in that he's popular with his party, and he succeeded to raise a billion dollars the first time to defeat Donald Trump.

And there's reason to believe in the polling that he will defeat Donald Trump again.

Well, I'm just reading the newspapers right now in the 21st century.
