I was set on being a mounted police officer from a young age, but I knew I'd have to move

to make it happen, and for me, the Met presented endless opportunities.

From joining as a PC at age 23, I went into a variety of roles, from emergency response

to public order policing. As a sergeant in the mounted branch, my dream job became reality.

Now I've been promoted to Inspector, I can't wait to see where my career takes me next.

This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I am Gaius John Batch with Germanicus Mark of Lejos,

who I remind everybody is just back from Greece, so his philosophical remarks are inspired by

his Greek roots. I, however, as a Roman citizen, have no Greek roots and do not remember poetry

very well, and every time we go to Greek drama, it's much too serious for me. However,

Roman history says, pay attention to the bad parts, because they're coming again.

68 to 69 AD were the bad parts, year four emperors, Galba, Atheob, Vatellius, and eventually

a spation marched back from quelling the troubles in Palestine and took control of the throne,

and ruled for ten years, then his son succeeded him, died too early, and now we're living with

another son, Demission, who is nobody's idea of a good emperor. However, we have confidence

that we're moving into a good century. However, about the year four emperors, what we've learned

is that when no one is master of all the rest, you do not have peace. And right now,

we have no master of the earth, Biden and Trump. They're not masters.

Macron, not masters, Sunek, not master, George Maloney, not master, Moscow, not master,

Xi Jinping, not master. We have a series of emperors, all of whom claim to be rising powers,

or secure powers, or dominating the conversation in their region. And that is not the

facts that are received each day. And meeting in NATO, we're going to have the war chiefs of one side,
