This is the Friends of History Debating Society. I am Gaius and Germanicus is here whereby the Thames,

Londonium, it's springtime and its war. And the retired centurians and their families have shopped and gone on home around the hearth.

We are two older Roman citizens, Eccles class, we don't work, we philosophize. But we're in Londinium, so we're not fearful

of being overheard. We talk kind of loose, not only about the present condition in Rome. We have an emperor who's

unattractive to the Senate, that's usually turmoil. We also know that Rome has gone through some bad times since Nero decided to deprive the

world of a great actor and kill himself. Okay, fine. We know there's better days ahead coming soon.

Meantime, we entertain ourselves by looking at the 21st century and everything in between.

We've been worried about the United States for a while, but we've gotten over that.

We've decided the inheritor of the Roman Empire, that would be the United States of America

in the 21st century, needs to solve its own problems.

We can't help.

We're just observing.

We're going to begin with what the United States of America does not see, if they see it it's not permitted to

be said in Washington which is that with the arrival of Vladimir Putin in

Beijing we're watching the creation of a substantial authority for
