Headlines routinely use the term war crimes in a fashion that's meant to be somber.

For example, right now, Telegraph reporting, Russia's weaponization of Ukrainian grain highly likely a war crime.

Human rights lawyers say Kremlin-linked network of grain extraction points towards a carefully

planned campaign of a criminal nature.

I mentioned to you, Germanicus, that I've had occasion to speak with Gary Bass, the author

of a new book, Judgment at Tokyo, about the war crimes trials held 46 to

48 in Japan after the secession of the Pacific War.

And what I've learned from reading the details of the prosecution, which was parallel and

then longer than Nuremberg. Remembering that Nuremberg was about war crimes, not about

the Holocaust. That was another matter that was also important. But the war crimes of Class A, Class B, Class C, of Nuremberg we used in Tokyo as well.

Simple list. Class A is aggressive war. Class B is conventional war crimes, mass murder of civilians.

Class C is war against humanity.

War against humans. War against nature.
