And we have an emperor now, Demission, who is the second son of Vespasian, who solved the year of four emperors.

Demission is no worthy dissented. He's a troubled young man.

Swetonius, a poet and historian, sometimes mostly a poet.

He, when in doubt, go for the good story.

Suetonius writes up the mission in a fashion that is all negative.

It is nothing whatever to recommend the mission in this telling.

Germanicus, can you think of anything else to say about Suetonius?

I mean about Demission?

Because Suetonius would have it, would have it that we're just persecuted by his bleakness?

Well, we should never trust a Roman historian that Procopius was the same way when he wrote his history of Justinian and Theodora. These historians wanted to send a certain message and they had

perhaps emotional scores to settle, but it is kind of difficult to deal with some of the realities.

I mean, like this quote from Suetonius,

Demission put to death many senators

and amongst them several men of consular rank.
