So what are we looking at in terms of the planet?

Germanicus, once upon a time there was a Cold War.

We don't have a name for what we're watching now.

We will give it up and read it back into these hours.

However, it is obvious that there are three capitals that are now contending for supremacy.

Regional or global.

Washington, yes, and its subordinate Brussels, NATO.

Moscow, yes, and it has subordinates, I guess you could say, in terms of Belarus and perhaps

in Tehran.

And then Beijing and its subordinate in Pyongyang.

Those three peer or near-peer powers, Moscow, Beijing, and Washington are fighting a contest

in Eurasia.

We look at Ukraine, but we can also look at the small battle going on in Nagorno-Karabakh.

We can look at the threats, constant threats against Japan by North Korea.

We're fighting this contest for supremacy.

The measure here is how does Ukraine fit into this?
