This is the Friends Vistory Debating Society. I'm John Bachelworth, my colleague, Germanicus, Mark of Laos,

where our special edition, it's a holiday here in Londonium, 91 AD.

And we're speculating about war ends because the stalemate in Ukraine is about to get violent,

and we don't know which way it's going to go.

So we're entertaining possibilities.

The Germanicists brought forward the war of rules that would be when cities were not profoundly involved,

and weapon systems had limited range.

The war of a regime change, that would be, for example, 1918, with its Tsar and his family,

abdicating a karenski failing and the regime changing entirely in a new direction,

which led to a civil war for several years in Russia and what emerged were the Bolsheviks, Soviet Union.

I'm entertaining a war which Michael describes his rounded dust. August of 1945,

the big six were running Japan into the end of time. They meant to die in place,

and they're bragging to each other when they met at the palace,

was that we're ready, along with 100 million Japanese, to fight to the death.

On the beaches in our homes, quite over the top statements, you can imagine.

Almost Hollywood-like, but they actually said, talk this way.

In order to do that, they needed a coup, because they were still made at 6'3-3.

Anami, the war minister, Umuz, Yumeizu, the head of army, Toyota, the head of Navy,

Suzuki, the prime minister, Togo, the foreign minister. They were deadlocked, 3-3.

And overthrowing the emperor and replacing them with the war minister, Anami,

was entertained those last hours. This is between the first bomb, Hiroshima, August 6th,

and the final surrender, which is 1415. Remember, there's a date line here.
