Summary

Josho once more hosts this episode joined by Murray, Michael and Lindsay.

"Looking at ancient warfare through the lens of a logistician and discussing the army train provides a unique way of understanding combat operations. It is often said that amateurs discuss tactics and professionals discuss logistics. No combat operation would happen without the support of supplies, equipment, men, animals, and materiel to sustain those operations"

when Yosper was still doing Ancient Author magazine.

1:19.6

oh my goodness, this is going to be an incredible difficult one to find decent articles

1:24.6

1:29.3

also interesting, though it didn't prove to be as much of the challenge as I thought,

1:32.3

even though of course there are loads of problems that I touched upon in the articles

1:37.3

that we were undoubtedly returned to in this podcast.

1:40.3

The end result is a fairly wide-ranging number of articles dealing with problems relating

1:47.0

to logistics, movement of the army, and problems of supply, ranging from the Assyrians,

1:55.0

to touch on something early, the Babylonians, even to some Greek stuff and Persian stuff, and of course
