I'm David R. Mill, my usual co-host West Goldberg is hopefully staying safe in Florida,

but we've got Ben Goliver of the Washington Post to help carry the load and by help

I mean completely carry it. We've got a great show today even in the

dull drums of August and we'll be talking about Team USA's day one performance in

the Phoebe World Cup, LeBron James Taco Tuesday, but first we'll get into the Big Three Championship, which was this past Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The day's events started off with the fight for third place between the three-headed monsters versus power.

Richard Lewis led the monsters to a third-place finish and in the title game,

the triplets led by League MVP Joe Johnson took down the Killer Threes.

Johnson led all scores with 28 points.

Ben, I know you were at the event.

Were you there as a spectator or were you actually covering it as media?

Well, I was there more curious than anything.

Is my first time at a big three event.

I just wanted to see what was going on.

I may have had some pretty impressive staying power.

I think this is their third season.

And they've had a number of big names kind of cycling through,

you know, former NBA players names kind of cycling through you know former
