Summary

Dusten Hendrickson was born in Silver Springs Maryland. He moved with his family to South Dakota when he was five. He enjoyed growing up there because of the safety of the community. He was into skateboarding and snowboarding during high school. He had an opportunity to become a partner in a roofing company with a friend and he owned that for ten years. He figured out that he would prefer to build houses, which he did. He then built duplexes for himself as an investment and he enjoyed that even more. He then discovered that he could build 10 units for about the same expense and effort as the duplex. Now he is building 150 unit complexes for investors to create mailbox money by owning. More on Dusten: “Professionally, I develop and invest in wellness-designed multifamily real estate, existing value-add

real estate, and I passively invest in other projects as an LP investor. I enjoy giving others the help
and encouragement that they may need in order to begin their own multifamily investment journey.

Collectively, I own and asset-manage 869 multifamily units, approximately 25,000 sq ft of
commercial space and I passively invest in 2,034 units as an LP. I have been involved in real estate
since 2002 (basically my entire career) and have practiced anything from owning a roofing company
to building and acquiring single-family homes, multifamily apartment communities, mixed-use
buildings, and commercial property. I have developed new neighborhoods and nurtured infill and
adaptive reuse projects while working closely with the historical society, city council, government
employees and officials. I have deep relationships and connections in my local communities that
have spread to a national level from years of pushing the envelope in real estate trends and design. I
have a passion for efficient buildings, great architecture and wellness design. I collaborated with the
South Dakota State University Department of Architecture to build the first Certified Passive House
in South Dakota. I have developed a skill set specific to value-add multifamily because of all the
affordable design builds I have participated in – simply by living in a very frugal community. I am
blessed to say that I love my occupation.
Personally, I love to have fun in everything I do by being a positive influence through Christ. I also
enjoy reading, playing basketball, cycling, cooking and being involved with my wife, three children,
family, and friends. Another passion of mine is mentoring and am ready to assist anyone that is

seeking advice on real estate or, on a more personal level, the challenges of autistic children.”
