to be a thing, because I stood here on the day that Tony Blair handed over power to Gordon Brown,

again an unelected transfer, a passing of a baton, and it was absolutely chucking it down then.

And when was your first?

I'm very, very old. My first one was Margaret Thatcher's fall, handing over to John Major, a transition that caused

seismic ructions in the Conservative Party, death of Thatcherism, the whole debate over

Europe, that still are being felt in the Conservative Party today.

And on this podcast, we're going to be exploring Liz Truss's aims and ambitions for her

premiership, because she's going to be speaking in Downing Street, but also hearing from one of her
