Liz Goldwyn is a writer, filmmaker, and an artist.

She was a New York editor of French Vogue from 2001 to 2002 and has contributed to publications including the New York

Times magazine, the Financial Times, and British Vogue. In 2006 she published her comprehensive

book Pretty Things, along with the documentary of the same title.

Now she's out with her second book sporting guide about prostitution in Los Angeles at the turn of the 20th century,

basically pre-Hollywood Los Angeles it existed

Hi Liz thanks for being here thanks for having me Sophia congratulations on your

book sporting guide it's so pretty thank you how long ago did it come out

October 6 and this is your second book is my second book yes first one is

pink and it's called pretty things and it's about the last generation of American

Burlesqueans.

And all of your books are really research-based.

I think that's so cool.

I mean, do you just have a penchant for history and these specific subjects?

I mean your sporting guide it's not the same topic at all but there's a vein of women in history and female sexuality.

Female sexuality and women who've been forgotten by history.
