Hello and welcome to the Liverpool.com podcast. I'm James Martin and I'll be your host this week'm I'm joined by the excellent Matt Addison and Ben Boxac.

And today we're going to be discussing all things Diogo Jota.

There was a little bit of an injury scare in the Arsenal wind, but provided that's just a knock, he seemingly

a-nailed on starter at least until Roberto Famino gets back, and he bagged himself a nice goal,

but he's still something of an enigma in terms of the long-term plan in terms of what the team gains and loses when he's in it.

So the Arsenal goal, well-taker, Matt, wasn't it? But is that jotter's biggest strength for

you that sort of clinical streak? I think so yeah I think it's it's something that you

know we kind of saw it in fits and starts it fits and starts I should say for wolves in kind of sort of you know he kind of

went on a run of scoring in five or six for them and then didn't do it for a good few weeks

but I think at Liverpool it's been a lot more consistent

obviously had the period of time out injured last season it's about three months I think

wasn't it that he was injured I think it might have been a knee injury which

which didn't help Liverpool in December January time but generally speaking when he's

in the team he does tend to score and I think there's lots of differences that I'm sure we'll get into between those two players but yeah for me that the fact that he is clinical the fact that he is able to kind of get himself into the right positions and sort of get himself into the six-yard box, which is obviously something that F Amino doesn't particularly do.

I think is a huge benefit. I think there's still maybe a bit of a question to ask in terms of is through the

middle is best position I think for me it might actually be off the left which I think possibly

at some point when Liverpool has to be without Sadio Manne, I think that might be the sort of long-term position for him.

But of course, the fact that Liverpool bought him in, I think was a big factor was the fact that he can play in all three of those positions he's not really had to play off the right-hand

side but he can do that and obviously with a squad as small and as needing to be versatile as what Liverpool have.

I think the fact that he can play in all three positions is a massive thing as well, to be honest.

Yeah, that's the thing.
