Hey everyone, welcome into a live shot of pirates.

I'm Jose Negron from DK. Pittsburgh Sports coming from global field in Arlington, Texas,

where the pirates just defeated the Texas Rangers 8 to four behind a four-run ninth inning.

O'Neill Cruz with a three-run home run off the top of the foul pole, something that you don't see every day.

He was able to give the pirates some insurance right after Jake Mangum, put the ball in play, made something to happen with a runner on third.

Pirates able to go up five to four right before Cruz's monster three-run shot that gave

them the necessary insurance to close things out in the bottom of the ninth inning.

This was a game where they had a two-run lead in the eighth.

The Rangers did get two off of Gregory Soto, who's been incredibly reliable

up to this point this season, but the Rangers able to tie the game there late. The Pirates

able to continue to fight, continue to claw. You know, they avoid losing back-to-back games

for the first time since the end of March when they lost the first two games of the

season at the hands of the Mets.

So they're still doing a good job of putting some tough losses behind them and being

able to respond accordingly, which is what good teams do.

But need to avoid this, you know, win one, lose one, win one, lose one.

You'd like to see them maybe on, you know, a nice winning streak, see them stack some wins.

But, you know, if they're putting themselves in positions to win games and win series,

you know, you'll obviously take that.

So the offense tonight, you know, did what they

need to do, nine hits in this one, two hit games for Brian Reynolds and Spencer Horowitz, who

the latter is up to 271 batting average-wise. He's, you know, starting to get there. I know a rough
