bonus episode from the New York City Marathon last weekend. Angie, who's also here?

Angie had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion called Marathon Stories.

It was an event put on by Generation You Can, one of our faithful podcast sponsors,

and she was there with three other fabulous ladies, Tina Muir, Carrie Tolofson, and Emily Abati.

So we were able to record the session, and that's what you're going to hear. These ladies

are going to talk about what brought them to the marathon, why they got started in podcasting,

some of the struggles they've had in their running. Also, they'll talk about nutrition and fueling, social

media, and all kinds of good stuff. And of course, this was recorded in front of a live audience.

And Angie, this might have been your first live podcast episode. I know it was for sure.

Yeah, we really want to thank all of the MTA listeners and fans who came out to the live event.

We got to meet many of them.

And as always, it's an honor and a privilege for us to be able to meet our listeners who

are incredibly inspiring people.

Yeah, that's right.

We might have to make this an annual thing, you know, even if we're not running the New York City Marathon to just go over there and do some of these events because it was just so energizing to be there and also to meet so many folks that listen to the podcast who come in from all over the world. Yeah, that's right. So, okay, really quick rundown of the marathon. Who won the 2019 New York City Marathon?

Well, the men's wheelchair winner was Daniel Romichuk, and this was his sixth world marathon major of the year.

So he's a very prolific racer. And the female wheelchair winner was Manuel Ashar. So congratulations to both of them.

On the men's side of things, the champion this year was Gawry Camroir of Kenya.

He won in two hours, eight minutes, and 13 seconds after leaving the lead pack behind at mile 24.

Of course, he won the 2017 New York City Marathon, and he's the current half marathon world record holder.
