I'm Connor Rogers alongside my co-host Joe DeMayo. And I gotta be honest, I woke up yesterday.

I texted Joe and I said, what do you want to

talk about at the QVC?

We knew we were gonna do, as we always do, mailbag questions at the end, we knew we were

gonna get into rumors, because we know how long rumors go with the MLB Hot Still, but we were

not prepared at the moment for Jacob de Grom to be signing with the Texas Rangers.

So this is our first reaction show since the news happened, so I'll kick things off.

Joe, what was your instant reaction when you saw the five-year $185 million deal for DeGrom,

not with the Mets, but with the Rangers?

So that text message you talked about, my response was, I guess we have to talk about

something about the Grom.

Little did I know that meant he was going to be signing at all, let alone actually leaving

the Mets.

But my initial thoughts on the contract is kind of the thought that the industry had and I texted a couple

people in the game that I know and the responses were shocked way more than we

expected the reality is the Texas Rangers are a team right now that are trying

to expedite their opportunity to win they lured Bruce Bochy out of retirement to be their manager,

and they didn't do that for Bruce Bochy to see through a Texas ranger's rebuild.

So in order to get Jacob de Grom to go to Texas, they knew they had to go above and beyond,

and that meant five years, and I don't blame the Mets one bit for not doing that I think

the Mets made kind of the offer that I would have made support according to Joel Sherman it was
