Rogers, joined as always by my co-host, Joe DeMayo. And Joe, what's better than this as a new era

begins for the New York Mets? Because David Stearns will officially be the president of baseball

operations. We get to do a live show at our favorite place in Cityfield. It's fantastic to be

here at the Cadillac Club again. And one thing that I will say, and everyone who listens to this

show knows,

we're not big on using, like, hyperbolic terms, but this is truly a momentous day in Met's history.

And I know some people might roll their eyes, but David Stearns is someone that this ownership

group has had their eyes on basically since they purchased the team.

And if you read about David Stearns from The Athletic and other places are writing stories about him over the last day or two,

this is a guy that is considered throughout league circles as the best or the one B to Andrew Friedman of the Dodgers

when it comes to the executives in the sport. So this is just the culmination of Steve Cohen's vision

of having president of baseball operations general manager. This is exactly what he wanted.

And Billy Epler, according to Andy Martino, is going to stay on in his role as GM.

Not too surprising at all. David Stearns and him have a relationship of some sorts. And David Stearns is now the guy that's

going to run the show here. And it's an exciting day for Mets fans. Listen, we have a lot to get through on
