We got to talk with Heather Cox Richardson. She's an historian at Boston College, author of many, many books,

including most recently Democracy Awakening

Notes on the State of America, also the popular sub-stack,

which perhaps you subscribe to letters from an American.

We got into this year's election, the health of this democracy,

everything that you can think of, current events related.

What's what's great is that she's been doing this so long after this book and she's been doing speaking to her.

This is a little sideways, but whatever.

How do you feel about early voting versus,

and I grant you there are infrastructure challenges with this but the community

experience of all of us going to the polls on election day.

So I'm going to be radical over here and say not only should we have early voting but we should have a holiday on election.

Oh totally agree. Totally agree.

Yeah, I mean you're talking you know millions and millions and millions of people, so you've got to have a lot of ways for different people to be able to vote.
