Yeah good morning to you and a course welcome to join up dots.

The other day I did a couple of podcast episodes and the first one was

don't wait for people's approval and then we answered a load of questions from listeners who

dropped us a line on join up dots at gmail.com to ask us for help well one of

them was from a gentleman called Ahmed in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, and it was something that I kind of felt that I answered to the best of my ability, but I felt I didn't quite nail it. Now you might not

have listened to the episode but what we were talking about is why so many people wait for

approval to be able to start building their own dream lives when really

they should just go sod everyone and get me it down and start going.

And Ahmed asked a question, he said your podcast was a much needed reminder to take charge of our lives and pursue our passions.

However, what if I face cultural or societal expectations that conflict with my dreams. How do I navigate those challenges

while staying true to myself? Well I kind of answered that I would ignore other people's expectations

as long as it was legal and sort of just dive into it and be a flagbearer, be a leader of people,

get them to look at Ahmed and say, yeah, that's what I want to do. He can, he's done that and I want to do that kind of thing too.

But afterwards I sort of reflected on it and I thought, maybe I didn't answer that as good as I can. So I reached

out to a few people that I know through the Join UpDots network I suppose and I asked them that same question and I have got I think another way of looking at it okay I've got some strategies to consider if you're finding the same thing if you're finding

whether it is like Ahmed navigating cultural societal expectations are

conflicting with your dreams.
