In your by tradition the the Oriki is something that's really important in that Ory is head in your

by and then key is to greet. So it's ultimately greeting your head, greeting your

fate, greeting your destiny, greeting your fate,

your destiny, greeting your personhood. It's an affirmation to your spirit. It's a

hype mantra and oftentimes you get one when you're born and it is said and saying at moments where you need to be

reminded of your greatness and special ceremonies, so birthdays, weddings, and oftentimes funerals.

And I think about the, just a representation of this thing that exists purely to make you feel

good about who and whose you are.

And I mean, I think the Black diaspora has it in all these different forms,

you know, in hip-hop when when Jay-Z's calling himself

Hove that's him guessing himself up you know in Christianity when we talk about

King of King, Lords of Lords, Alpha and Omega, that's a form of Noriki.

So I wanted to talk about it in this book because to really present us with something that will gas us up in a world that's often trying to tear us down.
