This is Episode 1525. Welcome to the Daily Meditation Podcast. I'm Mary Mechley and I wonder

0:15.5

what the quality of your life would be like. If you listened more with your heart in today's

0:29.1

episode, you're going to discover a meditation technique called Amudra that you can do as you

0:39.7

meditate today. And this is Amudra called the Apan-Vayu-Mudra. It's Amudra that supports your heart.

0:50.9

In fact, this is Amudra that calms your heart. But it also helps you to connect more with your

1:04.1

heart qualities. Moodras are often referred to as yoga in your hands. We have a lot of nerve

1:15.0

endings on our fingertips, especially in our hands. And when you position your fingers and hands in

1:23.7

a particular way, it stimulates a corresponding region of your brain in a similar way as when you do yoga.

1:32.6

And as you do this Amudra, I'll get you started on a meditation where you focus more on the

1:51.7

qualities of your heart, love, compassion. And these will help you to draw out your innermost

2:07.4

essence. So you'll listen to your heart. To do the Apan-Vayu-Mudra is simple. There is a photo

2:21.7

on the SIP and OM Facebook page. I always share a photo there so you can take a look at what

2:31.4

the Moodra looks like. You touch your thumb to your middle entering fingers, touching the tips

2:43.6

together. And then you extend your little finger outward. And then with your index finger,

2:52.8

fold it down and touch the base of your thumb. That's it. The Apan-Vayu-Mudra for your heart.

3:03.8

Touching your thumb with your middle and earring fingers, extending your little finger outward,

3:18.2

curling your index finger downward, touching the base of your thumb. You can hold this Moodra for

3:26.6

however long you feel comfortable doing so. I like to do this Moodra at night when I've had

3:35.6

kind of a rough day. And I can't seem to settle my thoughts. And I feel stirred up,

3:47.6

but I want to sleep. And so I do this Moodra and it calms my heart.

3:57.4

Moodra's benefit you whether you do them while you're meditating or if you do them during

4:08.0

stressful times in your day. You can find the full guided meditations at
