It's a nine-part investigative series that looks into a serial killer who might have been stopped if police had believed one young woman.

This woman was kidnapped and miraculously managed to escape.

But a police investigator saw her as a troubled teen and not only didn't believe her story, didn't even investigate what happened.

The podcast explores not just what happened to this incredible survivor, but how investigative

missteps allowed this man to remain free to kidnap and kill other women. This isn't just a story

of a predator you've never heard of. It's about how investigative bias and mistakes don't just rob one

victim of justice. It makes us all less safe. It's the story of individual resilience

and family ties that managed to bring that killer to account in some of the cases, but not all.

We're sharing the story to give these victims a voice, to allow them to be known, to be mourned,

and to be remembered. And even 50 years later, there is still hope that new DNA testing will give
