I would say to be a biblical woman is to be a female creating God's image who is striving to obey and honor God in all of her life and relationships.

And when we do that, the way that God created us from our hormones to our bodies to our brain patterns,

if we are going to obey God in all of our life and relationships and obey him

as we know through his word, then I think we're going to fulfill what it means to be a biblical

woman.

She holds a PhD in Systematic Theology from Southwestern Seminary, where I spent some of my days as well, very long time ago, where she writes and teaches on the intersection of theology, culture, and women's issues, and includes work she's done in discovering the pattern

of justice for women in Old Testament laws. Welcome Dr. Katie McCoy to the show today.

Thank you so much for having me, Lisa. And actually, I am a former prof, which means I get to do

all the fun things. I get to do the teaching without the grading and without the meetings and all of that. So this is just a really fun time of life and having the availability to

do things like this. So thank you for having me. Even better. Well, I always, when I have someone on

here who holds a doctorate, I always ask them, hey, how should I address you because I want to respect

the work that it takes to have that credential. But she's assured me that we can speak to each other

as friends. So I'm talking to her as Katie today, but totally respect the work that you've done,

Dr. Katie McQuay. So glad that you're here today. Here are the places that I want to start

with this show because I want you as a listener to hear me first. I'm going to say a few things.

So I'm going to talk for a minute here. Take a minute. And then I'm literally just going to ask

questions with very little commentary probably and have Katie teach us for the rest of

the show because this is such an important show to me. And so you as a listener are used to a rhythm

here. And that might be a little bit different this time. I know where I have things to say and where I give the
