Hi guys, welcome back to some care and energy. This is your host, Ecta, and today I have with me Linda Thompson, who is a Harvard Business School alum.

She is a former editor-in-chief of Cartier International in Paris and has so much experience in the luxury sector.

She's also now the founder and CEO of Biography Skincare, which is an absolutely gorgeous line. It's just phenomenal.

It's my pleasure. I would love it if you could start us off by talking about your career in the beauty industry and how you got involved with wanting to start a skincare line.

And just all the good stuff that led to this.

Sure. Well, my career actually was, again, in financial services.

And then I worked for America Express for a number of years. And then after that, I worked in television.

I had a really interesting stint at Cartier in Paris, where I was the head of editorial, editorial videos.

Basically, researching stories of the sort of the untold stories of Cartier and the story of the Maison behind all the jewelry.

Yeah, so I really don't, I didn't have a background really in beauty at all, other than, you know, all of those experiences were really about really interesting, interesting people and people with really interesting stories.

But at Cartier, I got to dig really deeply into craft and into iconic objects.

And I think most people didn't really know the beautiful stories behind the jewelry.

So I was researching really interesting stories like the woman gem buyer at Cartier or who is the nose of the Cartier.

And the person who makes all the decisions regarding their accessories, but the common thread really there was a company deeply immersed in history, in iconic objects, and in craft.

And so having done all of that and I produced short videos on what does time mean to people, you know, it's a very French concept to philosophy of time actually exists in the universe.

And so I was emitting to our producer one night that I secretly wanted to have my own iconic brand with secret stories.

And, and really how that sort of ideas of oil started was at that time.

Yeah.

I started, I think I started there in February, actually, when, you know, pouring rain and snow and cold, drabby weather.
