0:00.0 | What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of limited resources. This episode number 600. My name is Marshall. When you're limited resources and joining me on the line all the way from Denver, Colorado. It's Luis Scott Vargas Luis. Were we at number 600 somehow? |
0:29.4 | Yeah, somehow we kind of got there. And you know, we had all these plans for our 600th episode, but didn't have quite enough time to wrap them up. And by that, I mean, I don't really think we considered. |
0:40.4 | No, we did. Actually, I invited a lot of magic community members to come on the show to celebrate and they all said, no, so I guess we're on the outs. |
0:51.4 | We couldn't even get, you know, our sister podcast, you know, co-host BK from constructed resources on he refused as well. |
0:59.4 | He was the first one I went to. And when he said, no, I thought this probably isn't a good sign. I continue down the line. And yeah, nobody, it's just me and you for episode number 600. But I did want to, you know, just stop. |
1:10.4 | We don't like to go super crazy on these, you know, milestone ones, but it's always worth reflecting and looking back. And, and of course, it's a good opportunity to say thank you to our listeners and to the community that we have around the podcast. |
1:24.4 | You know, this has probably been the most, most special thing in my life, right? This is the thing that I helped build and, you know, that is much, much, much bigger than Luis and I, right? And that's the part that we can be really proud of. |
1:38.4 | All the people that have come up and said hi, that have sent us a message, a tweet, a twitch chat, anything, just saying hi or saying that you like the show. We really, we really appreciate it. And we're really grateful to be a part of the community that we built around this, this podcast. |
1:53.4 | And I still love doing the show 600 episodes later. And I just, I want to, I want to do these things until I'm gone. So that's what I got. Luis, are you still in a rough sign off today or what? |
2:07.4 | No, it's funny. I still consider myself the new co-host though, as we've discussed, I, the person who's got the second most episodes after you. And it's not particularly close. I haven't actually looked, but at this point, I think my 10 years longer than everyone else has put together, right? By it should be. Yeah. |
2:28.4 | You started in 2009. Yeah. Okay. So, and I started in 2014. So I've been doing this for seven years and the show has been on for 12. So there you go. |
2:39.4 | And I'm here today is, is, is imprinted on, on the show as a result. Right. I don't know when I stopped being the new co-host, but I am still enjoying it. So you have. You will forever be the new guy. I just, I can't, I don't know why it's like that. |
2:55.4 | Obviously, you're not the new guy, but you're still the new guy somehow. So. |
2:59.4 | Well, you know, the good 600 episodes and here's to at least another 25. |
3:06.4 | All right. Well, let's just cut that conversation off right about there. We're going to be talking about modern horizons too. We're going to do one of her primer shows on here. |
3:15.4 | For this episode, we don't do a card by card for these because they're a bit more of a limited release. They're not the type of thing that you're going to be playing for three months straight necessarily. |
3:25.4 | And a good portion of our audience may never even play it. It's available on magic online and in real life, but not on arena, which limits its accessibility to a lot of people, but still these sets are really cool. |
3:36.4 | The first modern horizon set came out a couple years ago, and it was really an all-timer for limited. I mean, it was a banger that that set was sweet. |
3:45.4 | And this one looks like they even pushed it further along that line. So hopefully this one can live up as well. And we're going to be going through the broad stroke so that if you do decide to do a pre-release event or jump on a magic online to play a few, you'll have an idea for what's going on with the big picture. |
4:01.4 | And then you can try to take the cards that support that whatever archetype you end up in. |
4:06.4 | Before we get into that, I got to say thank you to our sponsor channel fireball.com. This place to go really for anything you need magic related. |
4:14.4 | You know, you can go there to find information besides here on the podcast about limited. You know, corticals has an article up on CFP Pro, for example, about modern horizons too. |
