0:52.2	He was director of the Institute for Social Research, better known as the Frankfurt School.
0:56.4	During some of that time, previous to that, he used his Frankfurt School connections
1:01.2	to come over to the United States and was actually embedded in the OSS that preceded
1:05.6	the CIA during the fight against the Nazis in World War II.
1:11.7	He was probably by far the most influential thinker of the 1950s and 1960s.
1:16.0	He's considered the father of the new left.
1:17.7	His books through the 1960s sold hundreds of thousands of copies.
1:22.0	His lectures were attended by thousands upon thousands of students.
1:25.7	His influence cannot be overstated.
1:30.5	He also was the mentor, the PhD mentor, to the very radical Marxist black feminist by
1:36.9	the name of Angela Davis, who left the Communist Party, USA, after saying that it was too conservative
