Midwestern American household. She remembers growing up with

her family, a carefree childhood filled with sleepovers, bike rides, and fishing trips with her dad.

Dennis Rader, Carrie's father, was a model citizen of Wichita, Kansas. The Air Force veteran

worked as a Park City compliance officer, served as a

Boy Scout leader, and even became president of the congregation at Christ Lutheran Church,

which the family regularly attended. Carrie had a very close relationship with her dad,

who is responsible for many of these fond memories. But at 26 years old, the image of her father was shattered.

In 2005, the FBI knocked on her door with information that would change her life completely.

That was the name serial killer Dennis Raader gave himself as he toyed with authorities

for 30 years. Dennis Rader was a murderer before he was even a father. In 1974, he killed four members

of the Otero family, just four years before Carrie's birth.

Rader, or BTK, was motivated by cold-blooded sexual fantasies.

He found pleasure in tormenting his victims.

BTK terrified the citizens of Kansas for over three decades,

with a horrific string of murders, making him one of the most notorious serial killers of all time.

BTK ultimately claimed the lives of 10 innocent victims, two of whom were children.

BTK loved the attention he received for his crimes, a narcissism which ultimately led to his

downfall. After a dormant period of over 10 years, BTK's crimes were deemed cold. However, in 2004, he began to write to the media once again,
