Regarding Megan's story at the Ripley Castle, I looked up the castle on the internet and found something interesting.

I'm pretty sure Megan might have seen this as well, but I think it would be great if I could share it with you.

According to this website, a lady Ashley Ingleby lost her only two children to men in Gytus in the 1870s,

and that her ghost has been seen walking towards the children's bedrooms before passing through a locked door.
