Only a professional can do that" Today I'm sharing the lie that every homeschooling parent is constantly facing and confronting it with the TRUTH of God's heart toward education and most importantly, His heart toward us as homeschooling parents. Our daughter once said, "Common sense isn't so common anymore". She was right. It's time for we as parents to return to the wisdom found in God's word and His gift of common sense. With that in mind, I'm also addressing a hot topic and apply some common sense to it as an example. I usually avoid controversial topics, but the reality is that the decisions we used to be able to freely make as parents have become charged with agendas, hate, and contempt for opposing views. Because of this I found myself strongly compelled to use an example to encourage you as parents to think for yourselves and do NOT do ANYTHING from a place a fear. Instead, find your footing on the strong rock of Jesus and HIS leading in you and your family's lives. 0:22.8	about education. Oh my goodness. I'm excited about this one because after 28 years of parenting and
0:29.5	over 23 years of homeschooling, I have a few things to share with you. But before I dive into that,

1:06.8	not just a fan of homeschooling, but a firm believer in homeschooling. And as more time passes,
1:13.9	and as I see what's happening in the traditional school system, I am even more convinced
1:20.6	that more Christian parents should be bringing their children back home. And I think that's
1:25.5	where we're headed. So today is one of those days
1:29.2	when I am going to encourage your heart in this particular area. As I said last week, we are engaged
1:37.1	in a battle for our children and our rights as parents to determine what is best for them.
1:43.6	The enemy is hard at work. The voices in our culture
1:47.2	are telling us that we are inadequate, that we don't know what we're doing. And never is this
1:53.3	more true than in the area of education. Now, I don't, in my mind, think of education as being a separate category from parenting, you know,
2:02.9	because I talked about parenting in the last podcast and the lies that we are tempted to believe
2:09.9	in the lies that we all deal with as parents. And I decided to do a separate one on education,
2:16.6	but the only reason that I made it separate was, first of all, it would have been too long.
