Hello everybody. This is Todd Adams. Welcome back to Zen Parenting. I'm here with my partner. What's your name?

This is Kathy. And we are brought to you by Avid Company. Yes. And we are going to have a wonderful show today and we're going to talk about children.

Imagine that on a parenting show. And parenting. Well, sometimes we talk a lot about just marriage.

And I think a lot of people think about that like, oh, it's a parenting show, but to talk about marriage.

But that is so critically important the way we talk about that is the foundation for a family, the marriage.

And you can be the best parent in the world, but unless you have a good relationship with your spouse,

you are in the dust.

Well, and you think about it as roots.

You know, your marriage is, that's the roots.

And you need strong roots to grow strong branches.

But today we're going to speak more directly about children and our relationships

with our kids and some experiences that we had over the weekend. And, you know, I agree with you.

We are speaking about children, but I really think a lot of this has to do with how we react

to our children. Rather than what our children are doing, I think, you know, majority of the time

our children are doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing. They're being children. Right. But it's how we respond to what they're doing that I think

really makes the difference. Yeah. The kids are pretty much the vehicle, once again, towards growth

and to learning more about ourselves and at the same time having a healthier family, right? Exactly.

Helping us build up skills that maybe we haven't built up, you know, patients, you know,

the awareness that we need self-care, the awareness that we need to think before we act,

not being so impulsive.
