Summary

Thanksgiving is a week away, but it may not seem that way. Santa has been at the mall for weeks; the lights have made it to your favorite department stores, and the commercials have been shoved down your throats since October.  Before we embrace the holly jolly spirit, LET THE TURKEY COOL! Enjoy the holidays for what they are, rather than rushing into the next one.  Kennedy Now Available on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@KennedySavestheWorld Follow on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@kennedy_foxnews Join Kennedy for Happy Hour on Fridays! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWlNiiSXX4BNUbXM5X8KkYbDepFgUIVZj Learn more about your ad choices. Hello and welcome to this episode of Kennedy saves the world.

Part of saving the world means that we have to maintain the delicate harmony that we work so hard to cultivate throughout the year.

0:23.4

And of course, that harmony wants to crescendo in beautiful, seasonal harmonies and melodies

0:30.4

that we only hear during the holidays. Having said that, we have to revisit the canon of canadalism and we have to let the

turkey cool. Many of you have forgotten this. It is something that I have been pleading with so

0:57.7

Matt Welch and Camille Foster, we really kickstarted the Let the Turkey Cool movement with a song

and a campaign and even a petition signing where we went to local businesses asking them to

1:09.7

forego the holiday music and Christmas decorations

1:12.7

until we have satisfactorily celebrated Thanksgiving.

1:17.5

Thanksgiving should be its own time.

1:19.8

It shouldn't be bogged down and holly and ivy and mistletoe and snowmen and reindeer and commercialism, it should be about fattening ourselves

1:31.5

into hibernation, which we can enter Thursday nights after the turkey has cooled. The problem is

1:39.2

we keep pushing these holidays back another week, another week, and then all of a sudden,

1:44.3

we're having pumpkin spice lattes in the middle of August when we should still wreak of

1:50.1

sunbum sunscreen. But no, we can't do that when we're drinking our fall beverages and

1:56.3

having cranberry green tea shove down our throats. Every season needs to breathe. That's the

2:03.1

only way we appreciate going into the next. And the problem is when you mainline a holiday

2:08.8

too soon, you're over it by the time it actually happens. What happened to mindfulness?

2:15.1

We have to be in the moment and celebrate each of these archways into our favorite seasons.

2:22.7

And that starts with fall.

2:24.5

That starts with apple picking and eventually pumpkin carving and Halloween,
