Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump attempting to block Smith Special Counsel Report. It's common practice for a special counsel to write a report about the results of their investigation. Special Counsel Smith, who oversaw Trump's two now dismissed cases, has written one, and it's

apparently two volumes. In a move that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, Trump World is doing

everything it can to stop the special counsel's report from becoming public. They're throwing up as many roadblocks as they can to

achieve that. According to reports, Trump's team got an early copy of the draft report and is now

threatening legal action if it's released. In filings to Judge Alene Cannon, two of Trump's

former co-defendants, remember, Trump was

dropped from the case, are asking her to block release of the report, and cited her ruling in

which she found that Smith wasn't legally appointed. Defense attorneys also state that the report

alleges the defendants engaged in the criminal conduct

they're charged with, which from a public perspective, that's kind of a, well, yeah, you think,

moment. Of course, the report about the investigation that led to the charges would suggest

they committed the crimes. From a legal perspective,

things look very different. Regardless of what you believe about the case, any portions

alleging criminal conduct by the co-defendants would probably need to be redacted, because

DOJ has expressed interest in pursuing those cases, and the release of that information

in the report might prejudice a jury. At least, that's what most legal experts are saying.

But this is where the legal meets the political. It seems incredibly likely that Trump will pardon his former co-defendants.

So the concern about a jury seems silly.

Back on the legal side, those pardons wouldn't come until after Trump is formed in,

and the release of the report would occur before that.

So the legal basis for the co-defendants asking for the report to be

held is pretty strong. They have arguments. Now, whether those arguments would actually hold up
