Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Greenland, spies, Trump, and diplomacy.

Another day, another international incident and undermining of U.S. power.

Reporting came out saying that the Trump administration has instructed the intelligence community to focus some resources on Greenland.

The orders came through Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and are said to have directed America's intelligence agencies to focus on identifying people who would be supportive of Trump's plans, focusing heavily on the

independence movement.

They were also tasked with finding out more about the attitudes of locals when it comes

to mineral extraction.

Obviously, Denmark is a little upset by the news and is reportedly summoning the U.S. ambassador,

which is kind of a big deal.

It conveys a level of importance that a normal phone call can't show.

The Danish foreign minister said, quote,

I have read the article in the Wall Street Journal, and it worries me greatly, because we do not spy on friends.

We do not spy on friends.

That's either just rhetoric for the public, or it's adorably naive.

Of course we spy on friends. That's how we confirm we're still friends.

However, this reportedly goes a bit beyond the normal

level of trust but verify. The bit about mineral extractions, kind of normal. Checking to see how

locals feel about the U.S., incredibly normal. Identifying locals who would be supportive of

Trump's goals to take Greenland? Wait, what?

That's actually concerning.

Generally speaking in allied countries, there's a lot of temperature checking of feelings toward the U.S.
