Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump promising to veto his one big beautiful bill.

In what may be the most interesting and paradoxical exchanges talked about over the weekend, Trump seems to have promised to veto his one big, beautiful bill. That would actually enact his agenda.

The House Budget Reconciliation package directs the House Energy and Commerce Committee

to cut $880 billion over the next 10 years from programs it oversees. The math requires steep cuts to Medicaid. At minimum, we're

talking about hundreds of billions per year, and that requires completely defunding the

Children's Health Insurance Program. I have a video going over all of the numbers straight

from the Congressional Budget Office, And I'll put it down below.

When asked about the cuts, Trump said, quote,

I don't think they're going to cut $800 billion.

They're going to look at waste, fraud, and abuse.

Hundreds of billions in fraud, waste, and abuse.

Okay, sure.

He was then pressed on what he would do if a billy was sent had cuts to Medicaid

and was asked if he would commit to vetoing it.

He went back and forth about it and said it was all fraud, waste, and abuse. But eventually

said, quote, I would veto it, yeah, but they're not going to do that. Okay. So, let's run through the

dynamics. Trump wants his tax cuts that will primarily benefit the wealthy. In order to get that, the fiscal

hawks want the tax cuts to be deficit neutral. That requires massive cuts. The tax cuts are expected

to reduce revenue by trillions, with most estimates putting it around $4.5 trillion. Without those cuts, Trump has three major issues.

First, there's a possibility that it gets birdbathed in the Senate

because it will increase deficits outside the reconciliation window.
