Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump making Iran great again, regime change, and reality.

Trump being Trump, he took to social media to beat his chest, about the same time as news was breaking that his strikes

weren't actually as effective as he was pretending. We're going to talk about his post.

Then we're going to talk about what it would take to pull off what he suggested.

Then we're going to talk about some numbers to put his cute little joke in context.

Trump posted, quote,

It's not politically correct to use the term regime change,

but if the current Iranian regime is unable to make Iran great again,

why wouldn't there be a regime change?

M-I-G-A. First, regime change actually is the politically correct term to use in this context. The technical term would be for an imposed regime

change, but I won't quibble. People try to avoid using it or suggesting it, not because it isn't

politically correct, but because it's stupid. It's costly and the U.S. has a bad track record with it.

Forcing regime change requires boots on the ground, a lot of them. I know the idea is to let them sort it out,

but that might lead to an even worse government.

It probably would.

And then you have to figure out how to secure the hundreds of pounds of enriched uranium.

So, we're back to the president posting on social media about an invasion.

There's headlines saying he was trolling Iran about the whole thing. I get it. It's just a joke.

Let's talk about the reality of what the president of the United States finds funny enough to joke about in public.

Using the ratio needed for occupation, he's joking about deploying 1.8 million Americans to a

combat zone for years to come. Iran is the worst of both worlds when comparing it to Iraq in Afghanistan.
