So today, we're going to talk about Trump losing the Middle East.

A number of events in the Middle East are showcasing exactly how much the United States has weakened.

It's a cascade of bad news for current American foreign policy, and it

signals a much weaker United States. Okay, so first we have the U.S. push to try to get Afghanistan

to allow the U.S. back into the country, specifically at Bagram Air Base. While some reporting suggests talks are still

ongoing, public statements from officials in charge in the country dismiss the idea out of hand.

An official in the foreign ministry said, quote, throughout history, Afghans have not accepted a military presence, and this possibility was

completely rejected during the Doha talks and agreement. But the doors are open to other engagement.

Now, the U.S. statement on why it wants to go back deals with China, but there might be more to it. Another development

is that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have strengthened their long-standing military pact,

and it's now official. Saudi Arabia is under Pakistan's nuclear umbrella. The fact that a regional power with long-standing

ties with the U.S. thought this was needed is very telling. Most analysts believe the kingdom

making such a show of this was a signal to Israel after their recent strike in Qatar. Two regional powers that have been U.S. aligned for decades are now signaling about nukes.

I'm sure that's nothing to worry about.

Now, if Saudi Arabia feels the need to signal over the incident, imagine how the country that got hit feels, especially after they

gave Trump a plane, were mediating on behalf of the United States, and they host Al-U-D Air Base,

which wasn't too far from where they got hit. That's a pretty big airbase, about 12 square miles, multiple runways. I know at least

one is 3,750 meters. It can serve as the forward HQ for CENTCOM. At some points in time,

it hosted more than 10,000 coalition troops. It would be incredibly damaging to the U.S. to lose that base, because the host nation didn't trust us anymore, or see us as powerful enough to intercede on their behalf.

If they asked us to leave, we'd need a new air base, a big one, one with a runway at least

3,700 feet, that could serve as a forward HQ for combat operations in a pinch.
