Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump getting ready to fire a U.S. attorney.

ABC is reporting that Trump is getting ready to fire the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The given reason is both surprising and totally on brand for

Trump. According to the reporting, Trump officials pushed U.S. Attorney Eric Seabert to build a case

against New York Attorney General Letitia James. But the office was unable to find any incriminating

evidence. But despite that, the reporting says

that Trump officials pushed the office to continue to seek charges against James anyway. From what's

come out, the core allegation is that James lied to a bank to get better loan rates. A grand jury was hearing information about the

allegation, but prosecutors didn't go for an indictment. According to reports, one of the officials

said to be familiar with the information, said, quote, there's not nearly enough clear and convincing

evidence.

That language seems to indicate that they didn't think they'd win if James took the case to trial.

I know the allegations sound remarkably similar to the ones officials made related to the Federal Reserve Governor,

but this is totally separate.

For anybody who doesn't remember, James is the New York AG who successfully brought civil fraud charges against Trump. At the time, Trump said that

case was politically motivated and accused James of election interference. According to reporting on the information that's come out,

only one document out of all of those reviewed listed the property in question as the primary

residence of James.

All of the other ones had the accurate information.

Perhaps most importantly, the information released seems to indicate the document

with the inaccurate information was never actually considered by the loan officer who approved
