Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about how Trump failed to get Congress in line.

Trump went to Congress to talk about the one big, beautiful bill, and to try to shore up the votes to pass the package that contains his whole agenda.

Speaker Mike Johnson had to call in reinforcements,

which is never a good sign on a package like this. Trump met with House Republicans

specifically addressing the fiscal hawks about Medicaid, the salt deduction crew, and the Green

Energy Tax Credit Group. He ranted, he yelled, he threatened, he cussed. He doesn't appear to have

succeeded. He reportedly said, don't F around with Medicaid, which to be clear, means don't F around

with Medicaid more than is already being done. He wasn't opposing the cuts. He just doesn't want people to blame him

for them. He doesn't want the fiscal hawks to demand more cuts to balance out Trump's reckless spending

and wildly increasing deficit. After the U.S. creditworthiness downgrade and the bond market's actions,

I'm not sure the fiscal hawks will

be moved. I'm once again going to remind everyone that they could simply not give the wealthy

tax cuts. Then they wouldn't need deep cuts to Medicaid. Just throwing that out there.

Representative Massey seems very unmoved by Trump's pleas.

He asked people if they voted for bigger deficits on Twitter.

And he seemed to mock the idea that the cuts could be made through rooting out fraud, waste, and abuse.

It seems likely there's probably more no votes on the fiscal hawk side of things.

Trump is so mad at Massey, he said, quote,

I don't think Thomas Massey understands government.

I think he's a grandstander.

I think he should be voted out of office.
