Well, howdy there, internet people it spell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump as the next supreme leader of Iran.

Okay, so we have a fun one today.

There's some international reporting that is so bizarre that it caught hold in the U.S.

Because it sounds like something Trump would say.

And we've had a few questions about it.

The reporting says that Trump was speaking at the RNCC and claimed that Iran asked him to be the next supreme leader.

Further complicating things is that there's video clips of it. So let's take the reporting at face value for a second. Trump really meant

it when he said, quote, we'd like to make you the next supreme leader. No thank you. I don't want it.

Of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most. As we say here, Iran's

government is three governments in a trench coat, the civil government, the military, and the theocratic side. Iran's government

is a Republican theocracy. No, not Mississippi. It combines Republican elements and theocratic elements.

Supreme Leader isn't comparable to the president. For the reporting to be true, Trump would have to expect us to believe that not only do the people of Iran believe he's a Muslim,

they believe he's a jurist, a scholar capable of interpreting Sharia.

I don't think that's the case. Look, I'm fairly certain

that if I asked Trump what Zakat was, he'd say it was a restaurant guide. Just saying.

So, now that we've got that out of the way, I have to do something.

I don't think that's what Trump was actually saying.

I don't use clips, so I have to listen to Trump speak and read what he said more than any person should ever have to.

Shortly before launching into the part that doesn't make sense, he said, quote,

They are negotiating, by the way. They want to make a deal so badly. But they are afraid to say it,

because they figure they will be killed by their own people. They are also afraid they will be killed by us. There has never been a head of a country who wanted that job less than being the head of Iran.
