Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bell again. So today we're going to talk about the Michigan

GOP Convention and all of the twists and turns that took place there over the weekend.

Okay, so last week we talked about a person who had thrown their hat into the

ring for the state Supreme Court.

There were a lot of mixed feelings about his potential candidacy on both the Republican and Democratic sides of the aisle.

Matthew DiPurno is facing charges related to an alleged scheme to access voting machines in the aftermath of the 2020 election. He denies all wrongdoing.

DiPurno withdrew his candidacy shortly before the convention. Instead, the Republican Party nominated circuit court judge. Convention. on. There was probably a moment where people thought the convention would go off without a hitch.

Then, the former state chair of the GOP in Michigan showed up.

Christina Carmo. She was ousted back in January amid reported

internal disagreements over finance and strategy. Some of the reporting seems to

suggest she entered with an all access pass.

The Executive Director of the Michigan GOP Tyson Shepard said, quote,

she was offered a guest credential.

She refused.

She was asked to take a seat.

She refused.

She was asked to politely leave, but she refused. Law enforcement eventually wound up escorting her from the premises.

According to reporting, another person in what seems to be an unrelated situation, was arrested and removed the following day.

But wait, there's more.

During the Convention, Republicans also nominated potential presidential electors who might become

electors if Trump was to win the state. It's a mostly ceremonial thing. There's no way to create controversy there.
