Well, howdy there, Internet people? It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

Democrats blocking Trump's appointments for another month. There were a lot of fireworks,

close calls, almost deals, promises, threats, and in the end, nothing. There was nothing. They just passed a handful of nominees

and went home for the August break. Yeah, they get a whole month off. This is a period of time

senators normally spend talking about how the working class is lazy. But sometimes, the lack of a deal can tell us

a little bit about the dynamics in D.C. If you want the score, the Democratic Party and Schumer

didn't get the money release that he wanted for the National Institutes of Health, but didn't

fold and blocked about 150 of Trump's appointments for another

month. Trump posted to social media, quote, do not accept the offer. Go home and explain to your

constituents what bad people the Democrats are and what a great job the Republicans are doing

and have done for our country.

Have a great recess and make America great again. Republicans blame the Democrats for obstructing his nominations.

Schumer indicated that historically bad nominations required historic evaluation and said, quote,

We have never seen nominees as flawed, as compromised, as unqualified as unqualified as we have

right now. But here's the part that's actually interesting. The Republican Senate Majority Leader

John Thune reportedly set up pro forma sessions over the break.

Pro forma sessions are basically sessions that keep the Senate in session. Even though they're on break,

technically they aren't. They aren't adjourned. The Republican Senate Majority Leader made sure that Trump

couldn't exercise his powers under Article 2, Section 2, Clause 3 of the Constitution.

Quote, the President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess

of the Senate by granting

commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session. They're technically still
