Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about McConnell and RFK Jr.

heading towards a confirmation conversation. Trump nominated RFK Jr. to head up health and human services.

A number of people groaned, especially those on the Democratic side of the aisle.

But now, Republicans are starting to get nervous and maybe even a little upset with the selection.

The latest eyebrow-raising moment is Mitch McConnell, who very recently seemed to indicate

he was going to focus his remaining time entirely on foreign policy

in the Senate, issuing a word or two of caution to nominees. The incredibly influential senator said

quote, efforts to undermine public confidence in proven cures are not just uninformed, they're dangerous. Anyone seeking the

Senate's consent to serve in the incoming administration would do well to steer clear of even

the appearance of association with such efforts. He didn't mention RFK Jr. by name, but the warning

That part about seeking the Senate's consent sure seems to indicate McConnell wants to withhold it.

So, with all of the other unusual stuff about Kennedy,

why was this the one thing that got McConnell off the sidelines?

Normally, McConnell can be counted on to act solely in the interest of the Republican Party.

But this might be a wee bit more personal, just a little. McConnell is a polio survivor.

He mentioned it, and mentioning his personal motivations is rare for the senator. He said, quote,

From the age of two, normal life without paralysis was only possible for me because of the miraculous combination of

modern medicine and a mother's love. He even kind of locked himself in to a continued opposition

by saying, quote, I have never flinched from confronting species disinformation that threatens

the advance of life-saving medical progress,
