Well, howdy there internet people let's bow again so today we are going to

talk about McConnell and his response to Schumer and we'll just kind of run through it because you know Schumer gave his speech and

when that speech went out everybody knew there was going to be a response from the other side of the aisle. The

Republican Party was not going to just leave that hanging out there and not

say anything. Something was going to to occur. There was going to occur.

There was going to be some kind of pushback.

And it appears that McConnell is the person

who is going to be doing that.

And that makes sense on a political level. Both of them are the top person in their

party in the Senate. So it makes sense. The thing is the pushback was incredibly tame. It was way less than I expected.

It was basically we don't do this to allies. We don't do this to democracies. This is completely outside the norm. And didn't really address any of the substance beyond saying it's not our

business imagine what would happen if Canada invaded the US and that was kind of it. I think most people were expecting a whole lot more. But the key part is you can't spend years hyperventilating about foreign interference in our democracy and then turn around and tell allies,

particularly Democratic allies, who their leaders should be, and when they have elections.

It's just completely at variance with the way we typically operate in a foreign country,

which is to deal with whatever government has been chosen in a democracy.

I mean, that's not exactly sharp criticism that's not sharp pushback that's not sharp

...
