So today, we're going to talk about Trump, Canada's counteroffer, Greenland, and the thing to remember about Trump's rhetoric on this.

Okay, so Trump's push to pick up Canada and Greenland is still dominating the headlines, which is probably the point,

but we'll get to that in a few minutes. First, let's run through the developments since the last

time we talked about this. Trump bizarrely refused to take certain options off the table when it

comes to his desire to obtain Greenland and the Panama Canal.

When asked if he would rule out the use of military force, he said, quote, I can't assure you.

You're talking about Panama and Greenland. No, I can't assure you on either of those two.

But I can say this. We need them for economic security.

Reminder, Greenland is a territory of Denmark, and Denmark is a NATO ally and a member of the EU.

France's foreign minister addressed Trump's threat by saying, quote,

There is no question of the EU letting other nations in the world, whoever they may be, attack its sovereign borders.

Canada is taking a little bit of a different approach to Trump's laughable foreign policy statements.

They're laughing.

The Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, said,

quote, you know something to the president? I'll make him a counteroffer. How about if we buy

Alaska and throw in Minnesota and Minneapolis at the same time? So, you know, it's not realistic.

He went on to say,

I know he likes making these comments,

and he likes joking around.

I take that seriously.
