of life index. This isn't just food, shelter, and so on. To use the Institute's own description,

it goes beyond bare minimum survival and starts, quote, incorporating essential expenses beyond basic needs,

encompassing factors crucial to well-being, growth, and upward mobility.

This includes not only necessities like housing, food, and health care,

but also education, transportation, technology, and other minimal quality of life and life advancement expenses.

For those concerned with birth rates, pay attention.

60% of families don't hit a minimum quality of life.

Governments and commentators like to use the poverty line as a standard to keep people above.

But if you want a thriving middle class, you have to have the components to build that happy life.

Quote, we analyze these components not just in terms of financial figures, but as crucial elements that shape a family's capability to achieve

a desirable standard of living.

More than half of the country doesn't meet the minimum quality of life standards.

The chairman of the Institute, Jean Ludwig, said, quote,

It's really dangerous because it's the kind of thing that leads to social unrest, and it's not fair.

The American dream is not that it's given to you.

It's that if you work hard, you have a chance to get ahead and achieve the things in life that you want to achieve.

It's not living in a tent,

not having to steal. According to the report, which I'll link down below, a couple with two children needs to make $120,000 per year to hit the minimum quality of life.

That number gives the family a minimum level of housing, health care, food, transportation,
