Summary

Big Sal from Peshtigo couldn't sleep, the algorithm found him, and now Pack Nation has to hear about it. A Bears YouTube video titled "Poles Cooked Again" sent Sal to his kitchen at one in the morning — and what came out of that kitchen is this episode.

  • Sal gives credit where it's due: January hurt. Caleb Williams was real. But the Packers who lost that wild card game were nine-and-seven-and-one, playing on fumes, without Micah Parsons — who was sitting in a training room with a torn ACL after going down December 14th. Facts are facts.
  • The Bears beat one wounded team, lost in overtime to the Rams two weeks later with three Caleb Williams interceptions, and Ryan Poles is out here getting a B-plus for signing James Lynch (half a sack, one-point-three million) and Jack Samborn, whose primary value is that he can talk football over lunch.
  • Sal breaks out the hardware store infomercial analogy — and it lands harder than it has any right to. Cap space was always the product. Nobody ever showed you the results.
  • The closing promise: Micah Parsons is coming back healthy, angry, and in green and gold on opening day. Write it down. Save the audio. Find it in September.

Subscribe, hit the button, and tell a Bears fan — they need something real to listen to. Go Pack Go.

Let me tell you something, Pack Nation.

0:13.1

So last night, it is late, I cannot sleep, and the algorithm throws me a Bears video.

0:21.6

Poles cooked again after bears make two signings that are steals.

0:26.6

That is the actual title.

0:28.6

Ryan Poles cooked again after signing two backed up players

0:34.6

that together cost less than $3 million.

0:40.8

I watch the whole thing every minute.

0:43.8

And by the end, I am standing in my kitchen at one the morning talking to nobody.

0:49.7

So here we are.

0:52.2

But I have to set the table because you cannot understand how ridiculous this video is without

0:59.8

understanding where the bears actually are right now.

1:04.3

And that means I have to do something I do not enjoy.

1:08.7

I have to talk about January. I have to be a man about it. Caleb Williams in the

1:15.7

fourth quarter, 361 yards coming back from 21 to 3 at halftime. I watched it. I am not going to

1:27.1

pretend it did not happen. It hurt. It hurt bad.

1:31.2

You understand me? Here is what also happened. The Green Bay Packers that lost that game had been

1:38.8

without Micah Parsons for five weeks. Torn ACL, December 14th, gone, the man who had 12 and a half sacks, 83 pressures on the

1:51.9

season, the most dominant pass Russia in the entire NFL that year, not on the field.

1:59.5

And without them, we lost five games in a row to close the season.

2:06.1

Five, we limped into the playoffs, nine and seven and one. We were the seven seed back nation.

2:15.3

The seven seed, that is not the Green Bay Packers at full strength.

2:20.4

That is the Green Bay Packers at half power, trying to hold it together for one more game.
