devotional. Hey, welcome to the podcast. My name is Mike Brough, and I'm thrilled that you would take the time

and dive into God's Word and just ask Him to speak to us. And while it's true that there

is historical context with which the Bible was written, I'm telling you, it is still as

fresh and relevant as it ever was. It's alive, and it lands on us in a deeply personal way, and I hope you're

experiencing that. Well, we're unpacking a little letter called Colossians. It was written

by a man named Paul, who was chosen by God to plant churches all over the place, and a bunch

of the New Testament are made up of these letters that he writes to brand new Jesus followers.

And this particular church was in a small city called Colossay, and it was really making a difference, doing a bunch of good

stuff. They were being known all over the place for their love for other people. It was such a good

bunch of people. Now, whenever good things start happening, like it was for these people, the enemy shows up.

I heard an old Kentucky preacher say one time, when a door of opportunity opens, the flies

always come in too.

So as Paul and his team planted these new churches, the flies, these false teachers, would

always show up and try to derail the movement.
