0:20.2	You know what goes on in the minds of people who invest in their local market, or think that their local market is the best place to invest, and then discover a different or better way?
0:30.0	Well, I received an email recently from one of our past and current clients and she said I wanted to reach out and say how grateful I am to you and your team.
0:38.8	I've been working with your team for almost a year now and am in the process of buying my fourth, fifth and sixth turn-key property.
0:46.0	And it got me thinking, the most successful investors were not made in a day.
0:51.0	Learning the ins and outs of the financial world and your personality as an investor
0:55.1	actually takes time and patience. And it can be broken down into some key points here. That is,
1:00.8	successful investing is a journey, not a one-time event, and you'll need to prepare yourself as if you were going on a long trip.
1:07.5	This is not a sprint. This is more of a marathon.
1:10.5	Second, it involves reading books and taking investment courses, essentially my first rule of successful real estate investing, and that is to educate yourself because you want to build your knowledge.
1:20.0	Thirdly, nobody knows you or your situation better than you do and you'll find out in
1:26.0	today's interview that that is especially the case. That means you may be the
1:30.3	most qualified person to do your own investing, but most of the time we all need some help.
1:36.0	Fourth, your level of knowledge, personality, and resources help to or should determine the path you choose. So we're all at a different place on a spectrum and we're obviously trying to get to a different piece of that spectrum or a different part and that's just part of the journey.
1:53.8	So when you have focus and you work with the right people, it moves you along that journey and
1:59.8	sometimes a lot faster.
